The 're-imagining' of the '80's television series 'V' begins tonight on ABC-15 TV at 7:00 PM.
National listings state that the show will be broadcast at 8, 7 Central and there is room for confusion. ABC is also making the series available to those who want to watch it on-line.
Trailers for the new show show the dramatic unveiling of very large alien ships over major metropolitan areas and set the stage for drama in regard to human response.
One mode of human response is to treat the bringers of advanced technology as saviors while another is to regard the unknown with suspicion, fear and violence.
And who is to say that the initially benevolent appearing aliens don't have a self-serving agenda not in the best interests, in the long run, of humanity? Is it naive or sensible to assume that any sufficiently advanced civilization who can float a city in the air would necessarily be benign on the basis that, had they wanted to overwhelm us with superior technology, they would have done so by now?

For the residents of a major metropolitan area over which were reported as many as 8 different very large, apparently alien objects, the ABC series raises a lot of very thought-provoking questions.
