Fiesta of the Spanish Horse was founded in 1998 with a goal to raise funds to find a cure for cancer. Fiesta of the Spanish Horse is a non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. An annual event is held that includes a four day Horse Show featuring Spanish breeds, held April 30 through May 3, and a spectacular "Extravaganza" on Saturday evening, May 2nd, at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center of Burbank California.

Admission to the multi-breed Horse Show is free and the featured breeds are the Andalusian, Lusitano, Paso Fino, Peruvian Paso, and newly added this year, the Friesian. The Extravaganza begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, May 2nd, but gates open and festivities begin at 3 p.m. Saturday evening's events not only involve the Extravaganza, but also vendors, food, and a raffle. Included in the list of special presentations is the Parade of Cancer Survivors which helps merge the goal and importance of the event with the fun and entertainment.
