Psystar, the rowdy and cantankerous Apple wannabe is at it again, after withdrawing from a bankruptcy. In case you were unaware of Psystar, these fun-loving individuals decided that they would bring Apple's Mac OS X to generic PCs... without asking Apple. Of course, Apple would have said no had Psystar asked, but that's beside the point.
Right now, at the Psystar website, you can purchase an Open(3) or any of their other models with Mac OS X on it. You even get the boxed, retail version of Mac OS X along with it and can optionally add recent versions of iLife and iWork for a mere US$60. Prices are also remarkably reasonable, starting at US$599 (the same as an entry-level Mac Mini, in case you were wondering). While I've not had the occasion to give one of Psystar's machines a spin around the block, the specs do stack up.
Of course, I don't imagine they'll be selling machines with Mac OS X pre-installed much longer as they have exhausted not only their funds but also just about every single reasonable and insane argument a collection of lawyers could dream up while trying to fight one of the largest and most protective companies on the planet.
