The Biggest Loser is now casting season 9. Although the production company is traveling across the country searching for .png){kind=logo}
contestants they are not stopping in Las Vegas but they are casting in Los Angeles, Saturday, August 1st. Click here for more Los Angeles Casting Information.
Can’t make it to LA? No problem. Click here to download the application. Note that besides your application and picture, you must send in a 10 minute video tape. Casting director receive thousands upon thousands of these tapes. Here are some suggestions to make your tape shine above all others.
• Your introduction must have a huge impact to grab casting directors’ attention in the first few seconds. If you were sitting in a room for weeks on end continually watching tape after tape what would make you interested in watching the rest of the tape. What tactics do TV programs use to hook in their audience from not changing the channel?
• Be as original and creative with your packet as possible. Include pictures of yourself before and after you gained weight. You might want to send your packet in a box that includes your largest pair of pants.
• Don’t forget you are selling yourself as a personality. Are you comical? Zany? Facial expressions go a long way.
• Do you play guitar? Jump out of airplanes? Show your hobbies.
• Will people want to watch you week after week? Remember, Filipe and Sione from Season 7 and their dance?
• Make an emotional connection with casting directors on tape. Who are you? Did you always battle your weight or did you recently become heavy? Why are you choosing now to lose the weight? How is your weight holding you back in your life?
• Remember, this is a still a reality show. Are you competitive? How much of a chameleon are you?
• Lastly, don’t forget to add your name and phone number on your tape in the event papers become separated.
Although applications must be postmarked by August 7th it would be wise to send in your tape well before the deadline.
