Valerie Bertanelli isn’t the only celebrity who looks fantastic at age 48 so does Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She looks amazing as the
cover girl of the April 2009 issue of Shape magazine whose readership usually is reserved for individuals between 18-34 years of age.
Julia, most noted for her role as Elaine on the megahit series, Seinfeld, and currently as Christine on her hit show, The New Adventures of Old Christine, shares her tips for looking and feeling her best. How does she do it? She makes balancing a healthy lifestyle a priority.
Julia aims to exercise at least five days a week because she knows that something in her schedule will derail her best efforts – that way if she only reaches 3-4 workouts she’s still fitting in exercise. She mixes up her routine. When short on time she multi-tasks her workout on the elliptical while watching TV, when needing an intense workout she goes out for a 4 mile run, and when she feels the need to get in touch with nature she takes her dogs for outdoor hikes lasting up to two hours.
When eating healthy Julia believes in consuming foods that are health conscious most of the time and indulging in her favorites snacks moderately. She eats breakfast every day. Enjoying fruits and vegetables, Julia supports local farmers by purchasing much of her produce from them. Salads prepared using unique flavors such as arugula with olive oil and fresh lemon juice or a sesame-ginger vinaigrette are a new staple. As for those favorites she indulges in? Admitting she's a chocoholic she can surprisingly control her sweet tooth by stopping after a couple of pieces but claims controlling her cravings for bacon isn't so easy!
