I’m back! Been M.I.A for a couple of weeks between graduating from Seminary, grading finals, posting grades and the usual end of the semester rush. A few stories over the weekend has interested me enough to dust off my keyboard and vent my opinion over cyberspace.  (NOTE: This post does not have anything to do with 2010 elections... just me and my opinion on the topic stated above in the title).

Why is it that the most offensive murders in society are committed by people who kill because they oppose death? If you are a pro-life Christian, and you kill, in my opinion you are full of hate and living in total disobedience to the teaching of Jesus Christ.

In the shooting that killed two Army privates, hate once again played a major role in their death. It is reported that the young man who is charged with murder was under FBI investigation after coming back from Yemen where he underwent a conversion to Islam. Faith and morals that have foundations in religions such as Christianity and Islam are a positive force for good in our society. However, in the past few days we are reminded that religion can be used as the seed of hatred, exclusion and justification for immoral behavior.
