"The Best Political Team on Television?"
As I watched CNN’s primaries coverage last night one thought kept occurring to me over and over: Is James Carville the only person in the room that understands politics? I am not a Carville fan. He is rude, obnoxious and too full of himself. However, last night he seemed to be the only analyst on CNN who knew that Senator Clinton was not going to concede and was not shocked by her speech.
On Sunday (June 1), I wrote the following prediction:
“In case some of you have missed the hint: Hillary is not conceding or going anywhere until the smoke clears from the fireworks on the convention floor in Denver. Senator Obama will clear the 2,118 threshold on Tuesday and it won’t matter…A fair warning to the Obama camp: you may think that the general election will start on Wednesday morning, but be fully aware that Clinton and her backers are not going anywhere. Clinton is going to wait him out and hope he stumbles between now and the convention. If he does not falter, be prepared to see Clinton’s supporters in force in Denver.”
CNN has promoted itself as having the best political team on television. My suggestion to them is that they find new players to cover the general election because they totally missed this one.
