October is one of the more beautiful months in the great state of Tennessee. Leaves begin their full change into brillant colors. It starts from upper East Tennessee and spreads all the way to Mississippi River.

Temperatures are fairly mild during most of the month, although we've seen some snow flurries fly (not very often) late in October. Average daytime highs will run right around 70° for most locations.

September saw a crazy amount of rainfall across parts of the Volunteer State. There are two articles from the National Weather Service detailing the incredible numbers from last month.

Finally, check this story about the 500-year flood in Georgia from Rachelle Oblack.
