The president spoke to students across the country on the importance of "personal accountability, working hard and staying in school."
In an effort to defuse the controversy, Obama released the text of the address.
"At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents and the best schools in the world -- but none of it will matter unless all of you fulfill your responsibilitie,'" the text said.
However, this speech has created controversy among some conservatives, who say that "he is trying to indoctrinate their children with a 'socialist' political agenda.
As long as the president sticks to educational issues, I don't think there is a problem.
