Three Web places for health-conscious Boomers
For Boomers who shoot for
high fitness levels (bless your hearts!),
Iron Boomer has an e-zine of healthy lifestyle ideas, triathlon training plans, and nutrition suggestions plus news and stories of fit Boomers. Their links section is worth checking too, and I see a women’s triathlon site “
Iron Geezelle” listed there.
Not ready for a triathlon? The guys at YOU Docs demonstrate a simple way to test your brain’s youthfulness – or lack thereof – and give some good suggestions to keep moving in the right direction. Stand on one leg, they say, with your eyes shut. If you can do it for 15 seconds, your brain is in pretty good shape. If not, the authors suggest starting by “being passionate about life, not living on autopilot,” which I consider fantastic advice. You can read the rest of their ideas here on You Docs.
And if you want to confirm some nutritional information you’ve gotten along the way, try ConsumerLab.com. It’s a paid subscription, but at $30 for a year’s worth of info, it might save you some serious moolah on ineffective vitamins and remedies.
Take good care of yourself. Okay?
