Jack's Times: Navigate the online blur

Is it really a child's world?
Having some facility with the Internet can seem a bit more important when grandkids show up. That gap between the babies born with a laptop nearby and babies born when school tests came from a
ditto machine is a chasm of unearthly dimension.
It occurs to me that some Boomers would enjoy learning along with the grandkids. Why not? It’s a language, for starters, and the best language programs teach the same way kids learn. Getting down to the nuts and bolts, though, and finding appropriate learning sites, can be a blurry proposition. There are so darn many.
I found a site that seems like a reasonable place to start. It’s out of the University of Kansas.
I like the visually friendly format and I like the options. You can go on World Tours, download PDFs of materials, and lots of other stuff. Seems like it’s responsibly organized and monitored. So if you’re looking for a way to speak the language of your grandkids, go give it a whirl. Search around on the site and find something appropriate for your grandkid. Let me know how you like it – and if you find anything comparable out there.
