While St. Patrick's Day is not until Wednesday, there are a lot of activities this weekend.  Some of these, consisting of green beer and parties, are not particularly suited to bringing your dog with you.  Others, however, are being planned specifically for dogs.

The Shamrock'N Roll in the West End has a huge doggy party planned on Sunday, March 14th. There will be a ShamRock'n Roll pet parade and pet lookalike contest presented by Petropolitan Doggie Day Spa.  During the day, Petropolitan Doggie Day Spa will have a booth.  Starting at 2 pm, you can register for the parade and contest.  The $5 fee benefits the SPCA of Texas, which will have their mobile adoption center out at the corner of Market Street and Munger Avenue.

At 4pm, the pet parade will leave from the SPCA of Texas booth lead by Jimmy the Texas Bagpiper, Shandon Irish Dancers, and animals from the SPCA of Texas.  The parade will go down Market Street to the Shamrock main stage, where judging for best pet costume, and best pet and pet pal look a like will take place.  The judges will be from the SPCA of Texas, Radio Disney, and Petropolitan Doggie Day Spa.

This sounds like a fun event for a good cause.  Even better, the first 50 participants get goodie bags. There will be over $1,000 worth of prizes for best all around pet, best costume, and best pet and partner look-a-like winners.
