It was a perfect day to enjoy some Bliss

Does a sidewalk eating area count as a patio?  What if it is fenced off?  Well, that’s what they have at Bliss Café in Arvada and I took the opportunity of the first warm, sunny day in a while to sit down, sip a cold beverage and nibble on a veggie wrap.

Bliss also does Jazz.

I have been wandering around town with my camera snapping shots for a Memory Lane article coming soon, and I just decided to visit an old friend.  I like all of the culinary options in the Olde Town Arvada area, and Bliss is one of my favorites.  I have never eaten on their sidewalk patio, and it was after 3:00 p.m., so I stopped in to enjoy happy hour.

Now open for lunch.

Bliss has a daily happy hour from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. featuring half-price deals on beer, wine and well, but, on Thursdays, they also have half-price on “Signature” cocktails.  For lunch, (served 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), they have a nice choice of sandwiches and wraps in the $6.50 to $8.00 range served with your choice of Bliss popcorn, chips or orange slices.  During happy hour, Bliss is a good place for either a late lunch or an early dinner.

It's a good sized appetizer for $5.95

In addition to half-price beverages, we sampled the Chipotle Hummus appetizer for $5.95 that was a good bargain, and my usual Veggie Wrap.  I love the fresh taste, the texture, and the mixture of flavors in the wrap, but I usually like mine served with the popcorn.  I neglected to tell the server, and she neglected to inquire, so I ended up with the orange slices, which was probably the better, low-fat choice.

I loved the wrap, but I missed my popcorn.

I am really happy that Bliss opened up outside dining.  Even though it is right off the street, there is not much automobile traffic in the area, the view of the city is wonderful, and, on this day, the weather was perfect.  If you are in the area in the late afternoon on a temperate day this summer, I recommend stopping in to Bliss Café.  It is easy to find on the corner of Grandview Avenue and Webster Street, and it is within easy walking distance of ample parking.
