My fellow Americans...
Yeah, right! Like that would ever happen. The likelihood of that event ever taking place is about on a level with Paris Hilton beating out that old dude for the Republican nomination. Nonetheless, the thought is as intriguing as a young, attractive, swimsuit clad presidential candidate. I did not even need to hear the platform. I bought the t-shirt right away. As for the dining, about as close as any of us will ever get to sharing that adventure with Paris Hilton is to visit the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel at 14th and Welton in Downtown Denver.

Located centrally at 1400 Welton, the Hilton Garden Inn is close to everything downtown, the Performing Arts Complex, the Art Museum, the Capitol and even Coors field. Rooms start at just $119 and feature not only room service but also sandwiches and pastries at Daz Bog. For casual dining, Pi Kitchen + Bar is also on the site.

Pi Kitchen features the creations of chef Joe Seeds including a number of vegetarian options on the dinner menu. For an appetizer, there is the Caprese Salad for $9. For a sandwich, there is a choice of burgers, including a Boca burger, served with a choice of five cheeses, bacon and mushrooms. There is also “The Green” sandwich that is avocado, bibb lettuce, alfalfa sprouts, cucumber and tomato served on a tomato flavor wrap with green herb mayonnaise. That will set you back $10. The only entrée offered for vegetarians is a warm, Mediterranean vegetable medley for $14. It is not a great selection, but not bad. I would happily meet Paris Hilton there to discuss campaign plans. In fact, after that, I would not only vote for her, I would be willing to volunteer on the campaign and post yard signs all around the city wearing my “No More Old Dude” t-shirt.

Seriously, though, the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown is certainly worth a try whether you are vegetarian or not. I have not tried the Pi Kitchen + Bar, but that “Green” sandwich sounds intriguing and, since they do have a bar, I am sure to be pleased. As for how the addition of a third party candidate will affect this year’s presidential race, we will have to wait and see.
