You can’t have a smokin’ hot barbecue for the Fourth of July without a few Independence Day sweet treats. Whether they are star-spangled or all decked out in red, white and blue glory, take a look at these yummy desserts!

Independence Day Cakes and Pies to Die For!

  • Simple July 4th Dessert – As the name suggests, this recipe is just plain simple. Layer Lady fingers, whipped cream, strawberries and blueberries. That’s it!
  • Flag Cake – From Food Network’s Ina Garten. Watch the video for step-by-step directions.
  • Wave the Flag Cupcakes – These little cakes from SheKnows are too cute to eat!Photo: Mike Lorenzo / Stock
  • Wave Your Flag Cheesecake – A video is also included for step-by-step instructions from Kraftsfoods.
  • Caramel Apple Pie – What could be more American than a heapin’ slice of warm apple pie?
  • Patti’s All American Trifle - Cut an angel food cake into cubes, add vanilla instant pudding, whipped topping and strawberries and blueberries. Simple.
     

Miscellaneous Treats:

  • Sparklin’ Marshmallow Crispy Treats – Rice Crispy Treats, all decked out! Not only are these adorable, they are simple to make too! This is a must-have for the kids!
  • Fourth of July Jello – From Marie LeBaron, this pretty patriotic dish is sure to be a great big hit! The simple recipe just uses Jello, whipped cream and red, white and blue fruit.
    Old Glory Cheesecake Bars
    Two-Tone Lemonade Mousse – This refreshing recipe that calls for lemonade and berries, is from Better Homes and Gardens.
  • Patriotic Pretzel Sparklers – This recipe could be used as a dessert or just a little something to munch on. Take long rod pretzels and dip them in melted white chocolate. Sprinkle with red, white and blue sprinkles and cool.
