In honor of the millions of stay-at-home women, today is a special day just for you! It's Housewife Day, also called Retro Housewives Day.

Back in the day, it was the "norm" for most women to be stay-at-home moms.  But those days are long gone. While some women choose to be modern day domestic divas, many women must work out of the home due to financial necessity or other obligations. So move over Betty Crocker, Susie Homemaker, June Cleaver and Lucy Ricardo, times sure are a-changing!

Whether you are a woman who works inside or outside the home, chances are good you'll agree with the adage, "a woman's work is never done."   After all, housewives fulfill many duties.  From nurse, chef, maid and seamstress to teacher, chauffeur , gardener and referee, women have many roles.

While a new vacuum or utilitarian product may be a helpful gift idea for Housewife Day, a nice relaxing day at the spa would  probably be better!  So go ahead - put down that dirty laundry and let those dishes pile up for one day, ladies. November 3rd is dedicated to you hard working, under-appreciated homemakers both near and far. Kick back, put your feet up and take a break. You deserve it!  Happy Housewife Day!
