After my experience with "Golden Girls Live," I really didn't want to see yet another drag show this weekend—I'd far exceeded my weekly quota of lackluster female impersonation. Fortunately, my friend Michael convinced me to give Aunt Charlie's a try anyway.

Over the past few years, Aunt Charlie's has gained a bit of visibility among the younger gay set because of DJ Bus Station John's Thursday-night Tubesteak parties. But the joint's classic draw continues to be the drag shows performed by the Hot Boxxx Girls every Friday and Saturday night.

When I went on Friday, the highlight of the evening was Vicki Marlane ("The Girl with the Liquid Spine"), the 73-year-old drag queen who's done drag for 58 years. I shot some video of Ms. Marlane, who somehow managed to make Celine Dion's "Power of Love" more bearable than usual. Here's the performance in two parts (my favorite moment arriving at 0:28 in part two):
