'Star Wars' content hits the Wii Virtual Console

LucasArts and Nintendo announced today that all three Super Nintendo Super Star Wars side-scrolling adventure games, which came in at number 3 on the Top Ten Best Star Wars Games List, will be hitting the Wii Virtual Console for 800 Wii Points each.

According to the press release, Super Star Wars is available for download today, and "[i]n the coming weeks, both Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi will be added to the Virtual Console lineup." In addition, "Star Wars-themed content" will be featured on various Wii channels "throughout the week", the press release states. Everything from Star Wars-themed Miis on the Mii Channel to Star Wars trivia and debates on the Everybody Votes Channel.

Nintendo and LucasArts promise more LucasArts titles will be appearing on the Wii Virtual Console in the future. In the meantime, fans and gamers can download three of the best Super Nintendo Star Wars games and play them over and over again.
