In today's Huffington Post, Colorado Columnist Meredith C. Carroll questions whether the streets of Aspen are filled with A-list celebrities or celebrities who are past their fame prime.
She says other than Lance Armstrong, whose son was born in Aspen weeks before his Tour de France play, the other celebrities from Aspen are of "fading status."
Carroll pokes fun at Goldie Hawn, who Carroll says is only famous these days for being Kate Hudson's mom.
She says that Melanie Griffith, another Aspen regular, is an "Aspen stalwart," and that Kevin Costner got more people to see his band (450) than his last movie, Swing Vote.
Most controversially, she says that THE Jack Nicholson is among the washed up celebrities in Aspen who is "most likely to be featured on Entertainment Tonight only when yet another scantily clad twenty-something is spied helping him stumble out of a nightclub with his belly hanging out over his pants."
While these celebrities aren't as famous as they once were, it doesn't mean they aren't still A-list by celebrity standards - many still are Oscar winning and are well respected actors... and they are still celebrities who adorn the snowy streets of Colorado's ski town and that's why Carroll will keep writing about 'em!
