Colorado Springs designer, Matt Locke, came in a disappointing second place in the season finale of HGTV’s Design Star 3. Locke found out his fate tonight when Jennifer Bertrand of Olathe, Kansas was crowned winner after snagging more viewers’ votes. Bertrand will receive a contract to host a show on HGTV and will likely propel to national celebrity status. Not all is bad for the local design star. Locke's parting gifts include a seven-day Caribbean cruise and a $5,000 gift card from Bank of America – not to mention the fame and success the show has and will continue to bring his Los Angeles design business.
