Colorado Springs celebrity chef is toast

Shane Lyons, the Colorado Springs chef who competed on “The Next Food Network Star” reality series this season was eliminated from the competition on Sunday night.

Lyons told the Colorado Springs Gazette, “The experience was incredible. The people that I met and the friendships that I made and the networking that I was able to do was amazing. That was the prize.”

Lyon’s fate was decided by the judges who ultimately thought the 20-year-old chef was too young for the job.

Lyons currently works as the lead chef at the Blue Star restaurant in Colorado Springs. He’ll be there until August 4^th (so if you’re a fan, be sure to stop by and show Lyons a little love).

The former Nickelodeon star says he will be moving to New York in August and has a job lined up as a cook at a French restaurant.
