For the past five years, Tim Buckley has been safely and happily ensconsed on Lower Queen Anne, running a sturdy neighborhood pub. But he's always had his heart in Belltown. Last year, he took over the former MGM screening room at the corner of Second and Battery--site of Marjorie's, Blu Canary stationery and a hair salon--and combined the space into an ambitious new pub.
Buckley's in Belltown opened this week to warm applause. It's unpretentious (you can order a PBR or a rum & coke and nobody's going to laugh at you), it's inexpensive (burgers, reubens and such for about $9), and there are two dozen beers on tap. Happy Hour, too, from 3 to 6 weekdays.
