My Weight Watchers journey, vol. 12; Weighty Issues
As I am losing weight, I am finding I’m more aware of health issues currently affecting me as well as

opportunities afforded me that may have not been before. For instance, thanks to the Denver Examiner’s intrepid Gay Examiner, Drew Wilson, I’ve discovered that I have the opportunity to be an underwear model! If you would also like to enter the underwear model contest,
follow this link to Drew’s blog to find out more. I’ve already picked out my entry (see photo at right). Drew, I swear there are abs under there somewhere. Also, what are the contest rules considering, ahem… embellishments? Will prosthetics be allowed?
There are also several other interesting bits of health news currently making headlines. According to the Fatboy’s Feeds (down and to your left. Hint; there are more feeds. To view them all, use the dropdown.), the Science Daily Obesity News reports that
memory loss can be linked to poor diet. In other news, it was reported by the Science Daily Obesity News that memory loss can be linked to poor diet.
In another article, SDON
highlights a German study that proclaims adolescents that merely think they are fat have a lower quality of life than those who are actually fat. No wonder I’m so well adjusted. I went through adolescence convinced that I was actually thinner than I was.
SDON also reports that lower
levels of the hormone leptin may make it more challenging for people who have lost weight to keep it off. In unrelated news, I would like to make it known that anyone who will be buying either birthday or Christmas presents for me should buy leptin gift cards.
Also, if you have turmeric in the cabinet, by all means get that wonder spice out and use it. According to SDON,
this spice which is present in curry is a promising tool for battling diabetes and obesity.
Well, I could go on like this all day, but I need to eat lunch. I’m thinking either Indian or Thai.
