A few weeks agoIndi Denim asked if they could make me a pair custom jeans. Skeptically, I accepted, measured my chiseled physique and ordered a pair of jeans every man should own: dark, well-fitted, straight-cut, 5-pocketed, basic-stitched, zipper-fly jeans.
They came the other day.
I must admit, I was as even as skeptical when they arrived as I was when I ordered them. They sat on my Le Corbusier chaise for nearly a week. This morning, I tried them on. (It's laundry day, I had no choice).
Though they could benefit from a good pounding in the washing machine, I'm mighty impressed by the fit and outcome.
Though they could benefit from a good pounding in the washing machine (I opted out of both the distressed and hand-sanded looks — a good pair of jeans should be broken-in naturally), I'm mighty impressed by the fit and outcome.
They have the perfect length. They're a good, dark color. The fit is great on the waistband.
Today, Stile is wearing them with a pair of bowler shoes, a white T-shirt and black knit v-neck sweater. It's a brilliant, basic, simple combo that works well if you have a good pair of jeans.
I found that pair of jeans with Indi Denim. And if I ever want to reorder them, they ever promise to remember my sizing for a quick re-order. That's better than the last ex-Mrs. Coyote could do. Want the same fit in a different style denim? Easy as pie to change.
Sure it takes the beauty out of shopping at Diesel with a supermodel as a personal shopper, but it was easy. They came in less time than they said (3.5 weeks compared to 4) and I'll be wearing these both out and to the club. The only item left to be tested? Longevity.

You wouldn't guess it from the shot above, but this new kid on the block — no, it's not Franz Ferdinand — in the cycling world has some cool gear (no, they don't make tweed or British cycling outfits, much to my dismay). They do, however,... Read More Topics:

We all need a good drink once and a while. Mine as of late has been either Jameson and Coke or a Manhattan. It depends on the doldrums, I suppose. Did Arsenal loose? In that case I may drink straight vodka. Did a possible future ex-Mrs. Coyote walk... Read More Topics:

Paul Newman was at one time (for a long time) the ultimate guy's guy. Sure you can make the argument that Steve McQueen had that title locked since 1960's The Magnificent Seven, but what McQueen did with fierceness, Newman did with his piercing... Read More Topics:

Gone are the days of needing to have great ties and fifteen suits in varying shades of blues and grey. I mean, this isn't the 1960s and you're not drinking a high-ball at work. (Actually, if you are, toss one back for me, please.) The new man of style... Read More
Nearly every gal Stile has ever dated uses a Blackberry. Call me superstitious, but if I find one that uses an iPhone, she's finished. After all, it's nice to show off my iPod-ish features. That is until her "I can surf the web faster than you"... Read More Topics:

In one of many brave moves Stile has made in the last month (least of all, acquiescing to save the private jet only for journeys of more than 36 hours) none were as surprising as ditching the vodka martini or Jameson and Coke last night for a bottle... Read More Topics:
