Dress like Bond. James Bond.

Daniel Craig as James Bond
When it comes to style there's no one more stlyish than the fictional character created by Ian Fleming: James Bond. And sure, you may favor a particular actor playing the debonair British spy (George Lazenby, anyone?), but the character himself — his grit, his charm, his sophisticated skills — is what attracts us to him like a moth to a flame. How does he do it? Well, the Tom Ford suits help, for one. Knowing when to pull on a tuxedo is another.

LA Times writer Adam Tschorn exhaustively — and carefully — looks at Bond's new look in Quantum of Solace in this Sunday's edition:

Even though "Quantum" breathlessly picks up where "Casino Royale" left off, Bond's look has morphed again; the most memorable image is not of the tuxedo-clad Craig (here he steals one to infiltrate the opera) but rather the sight of him tooling around Haiti on a motorcycle in white Levi's jeans and a black (similarly borrowed) zip-front jacket, looking like Steve McQueen channeling Jason Bourne.

But for you, yourself to dress like you have a license to kill, grab these few items, and wear them well.

Tuxedo
You many not be able to afford a Tom Ford tuxedo — and for those special occasions only, why would you want to? — but no wardrobe is complete without a tux. Grab a basic one at the Express for a wee bit of cash (jacket, $248; pants, $148; express.com) or a more sophistiated, long-lasting one from Tommy Hilfiger (Stile found one on Overstock for a mindblowingly low price).

Blazer
Bond often goes suitless, but sports a blazer. Use simple lines and basic cuts and colors to get on with it. And pair it with a crisp, clean Oxford dress shirt, below.

Dress shirt
As mentioned, it goes with a blazer, but also with linen pants and jeans. Get a nice white buttondown bespoke and you'll never go back to off-the-rack, but if you must, Stile recommends a Burberry Classic White ($165; burberry.com). Pair with linen or searsucker trousers in the summer, grey or dark trousers in the fall and winter.

Pants
Go with a zipped-fly, pleatless trouser that you can wear anytime during the day or casually at night, or go for the old school Sean Connery look, a la Dr. No and grab a pair of chinos.

Sunglasses
In the new Quantum of Solace, Craig as Bond sports even more Tom Ford: sunglasses. His single bridge aviators ($330; shopping.com) will complete your look.

Have a Vesper

That mysterious aperitif Bond orders in both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace is Lillet, which originally hails from Podensac, in the Bordeaux region of France. 80% of the wine is classic white Bordeaux, well the Lillet Blanc at least (avoid the Rouge — it's a waste of time). Stile prefers to drink the citrus-flavored drink for happy-hour, in a tumbler with a few rocks, and a twist of orange. Bond prefers it mixed with gin and vodka:

Vesper Martini
3 oz Gin
1 oz Vodka
0.5 oz Lillet Blanc

Watch this: Bell & Ross
