No Greivis today in Northwood exhibition

November 8, 1:52 PM

Greivis Vasquez will miss today’s exhibition versus Northwood University after an undisclosed violation of team rules, Gary Williams told The Sun.

Vasquez, one of the team’s tri-captains, will rejoin the team Monday at practice.

The team really won’t miss Greivis today—his benching is a good excuse to see what Eric Hayes can do at the point and a chance to get Sean Mosley (if his ankle is healthy enough) and Adrian Bowie some more experience. It will be interesting to see if Cliff Tucker can keep up his fantastic offseason, too.

Hopefully the benching isn’t a sign of Vasquez’s leadership potential.

The exhibition will give all of the young big men—Burney, Dupree, Goins, Gregory—a shot to prove their worth. And we’ll get our first look at Jin Soo Kim, too.

Check out the game on 1300 AM, Baltimore’s ESPN radio.

The Terps open the regular season next Friday vs. Bucknell.
