I know it's a couple days late, but due to a work-filled weekend, I haven't had a chance to write about it.
Brandon...Morrow...rocked.
Not did ok, not "showed some promise," he rocked. 7 2/3, 8 K's, only one freaking hit. And that hit came only after 7 2/3 innings of no luck for the Yanks. His start did something for the M's that hasn't happened in awhile: it gave us hope.
Since the near future looks a lot like the bleak present, Morrow's emergence as a star (I know it's early, but I'm thinking positively) is vitally important to this team regaining its fan base. If, and I hope to God they can, the M's can ink Felix to a long-term deal, having an under-25, 1-2 punch like Morrow and the King could be the base they need to build a successful team. And with Tim Lincecum looking like he's going to be a Cy Young contender for the next decade or so, a successful Morrow could seriously help the healing process.
It's only one start, but here's to hoping Morrow can be what he looked like against the Yanks: dominant.
