What do food and ceramics have in common? They can both be prepared in an oven, (or in this case: kiln). Paint The Town Ceramics Painting Studio and Frog Legs Kids Culinary Academy have teamed up for a series of ceramic painting and cooking.

The first cooking and painting event will be held at Paint The Town in University Village on Friday Sept. 25th, from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. You can drop your 4-10 year olds off to: "...make a leaf print coaster set, and prepare a delicious fall meal that will include turkey meatball subs, petite apple hand pies and home-made hot cocoa... all baked in the kiln - YUM! " Price: $40 per child (10% off for siblings). Please call Paint the Town to reserve a space at (206) 527 - 8554.

Frog Legs Kids Culinary Academy (click here for my previous article on this fun culinary school) continues the double delight of painting and cooking fun with three more opportunities, starting on Saturday, September 26th from 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM at their location in Mount Baker for ages 5 to 10. Cost: $55. Owner Laura Vida: "We’ll make petite apple pies to make and take home, peach shortcakes with a white chocolate cream that we will eat and enjoy in class and then we will paint a ceramic pumpkin to add to your Halloween décor this year and for years to come."
(The ceramic pumpkin will be fired and glazed at Paint The Town and can be picked up a couple of days later.) 

For ages 7 to 12 the cooking and painting continues on Saturday, September 26th from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM with a session called: 'Apple, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie 2'. Location: Frog Legs Kids Culinary Academy. Cost: $55

And then one more session on Saturday, October 3rd called: 'Monster Mash'
