With the success of 3D in such films as Avatar, and tons of other films on the horizon coming in the technologically advanced screening method; it seemed only appropriate that there be another remake on the way.
Cinema Blend is stating that a source at Universal Picture has said there is talk of the creature feature Jaws being remade and coming to theaters in 3D. Can't say that I'm necessarily surprised because it was only a matter of time before the killer shark made it "not safe to go back in the water" again.
As of now this is only a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt, but once word of this supposed rumor gets out then you can almost bet it will happen. One other little piece of this rumor that I hope is totally and completely false is that Tracy Morgan would step into the role of Matt Hooper. Hooper was played by Richard Dreyfuss in the 1975 original.
The Jaws franchise had four films in it total including one already released in 3D back in 1983. Advancements in technology and different minds today could really add a lot to a remake of the giant killer shark, but if they go with Morgan then it appears it will be more of a comedy then anything.
