In celebration of Ivar's 70th Anniversary, they're holding an Ivar Idol competition in search of their first Clam Star in American Idol fashion. Whether you're a singer, spoofer, or rapper even, anyone can enter this competition. Top prize receives a $1000 gift card to Ivar's as well as a Clammy that'll sit nicely in your trophy case or mantle. You can even have your remake in future radio commercials and immortalized into a ringtone. Here's the break down of prizes. Even the runner ups get rewarded nicely.

Prizes: Winners will receive fame with possible inclusion in future radio commercials and ringtones.

1. The wining Ivar Idol will receive $1,000 in Ivar’s gift cards (enough clams for possibly a lifestyle! J) and a Clammy Award (a grand, gilded Mollusk atop a pedestal that is mantel-worthy).

2. There are also prizes for three second place finishers (a $500 Ivar’s gift card each).

3. And 10 third place winners (a $100 Ivar’s gift card each).

Be sure to make your way to the Ivar's website and enter for your chance to win. Submissions due by October 31, 2008. All details and contest rules are located at the link below. When you win, imagine all the clam chowder and fish 'til the wheels fall off that gift card of yours.
