Vail Valley hosts Blues, Brews & BBQ

May 21, 2:24 PM
by Kristi Pittman, Mountain Living Examiner

Memorial Day weekend kicks off the summer season in Vail Valley. The flowers are blooming and the snow is melting away, so this will be the perfect weekend to come back to the mountains. Bring your sunscreen, sunglasses and bikes, because sunshine and perfect weather have been in the forecast for the past few weeks. Most of the golf courses will be open for the holiday weekend, so perhaps you should bring your clubs and play a few rounds.
While here, you won’t want to miss out on the annual Blues, Brews & BBQ festival.   Beaver Creek is the host of this fabulous event which features daily kid’s activities, cooking demonstrations, and two free Blues concerts featuring Donna Jean and the Tricksters and Marcia Ball. Partake of the best barbecue prepared by top BBQ chefs from Kansas City, Des Moines, Iowa, Colorado and other locations nationwide. Should you need something to wash the BBQ down, Beaver Creek Park Hyatt Resort & Spa will be hosting the largest Colorado Microbrewery Beer Tasting in the state, featuring over 100 special concoctions from 35 Colorado-based breweries.
If quality time and breathtaking views are what you are looking for, join us in Vail Valley for Memorial Day weekend. As you take the time to remember those who protect our country and those who have given their lives for our freedom, you will be embraced by the serenity that our majestic mountains provide.  So bring the family and create memories that will last a lifetime.
