Michael tributes come in. AP

Michael Jackson't last days were spent in good company. The superstars of today and days gone by have lived in the house he rented and all up and down his street.

Carolwood Drive

The home Michael lived at is on the corner of Carolwood and the major street that flows through West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Aire, Holmby Hills, right down to Malibu.

Some huge stars either live on Carolwood now or have lived there in the past.

The house Michael was renting once belonged to Sean Connery. Very close to Michael's house is the home of Mick Jagger.

The house near the end of the street on the Westwood side of the major street has had several people who lived there who died in tragic ways.

Sonny & Cher, Sonny died in a skiing accident.

Burt Reynolds & Lonie Anderson, Their relationship ended badly with allegations being fired by both sides.

Tony Curtis, so far so good.

Marilyn Monroe was allowed to live in the guest house at the estate. She didn't die there. Her home is several miles  away, in an area that is very hard to find. Her house is very simple, elegant and homey.(I don't need to tell how she died, couldn't even if I knew.)

Lastly, John Ritter. He died of.....aortic dissection. Which isn't cardiac arrest, but is a heart problem.

Across is the former west coast home of, Elvis Presley. In the weeks to come, we may see some similarities between Elvis and Michael.

Two or so houses down was the home of George Harrison. Died of cancer in 2001.

A few more houses down and across the street was the home of  Gilbert Roland and Constance Bennett. Roland died of cancer in the early 90s. His wife for a few years at this house was actress Constance Bennett, they were only married a few years. She went on to marry several very rich men. Shortly after finishing her final movie, she suffered a Cerebral Hemorrhage, collapsed and died. Roland next married Guillermina Cantu, he was married to her for 40 years.

Loretta Young also lived in this house, she died of ovarian cancer.

Approximately two short blocks from Jackson's home is the home once belonging to Barbara Streisand. She left for greener..ocean in Malibu.

A few doors down, on the same side of the street was one of the homes of Clark Gable and Carole Lombard. THE celebrity couple of their time, she died in a tragic plane crash along with her mother on a mountain just south of Las Vegas. She was returning from a WWII war bond tour. It was written in the biography, "The King", that Gable stayed on the roof of the Flamingo Hotel with binoculars and watched the mountain for signs of life. I doubt this as the mountain is far away and nothing on the mountain could be seen. However, it is a romantic notion. Gable died in 1960 after finishing what would be his last movie, The Misfits with Marilyn Monroe.

A house or two down, I believe on the same side of the street lived Walt Disney, died of lung cancer.

Two houses down, same side of the street lived Gregory Peck. Died of cardiorespiratory arrest and bronchial pneumonia.

Same side of the street, three or so houses down, lived Rod Stewart...so far so good, but lots of marriages. To young, supermodel types.

On the opposite corner is the "Pink Palace" of Jayne Mansfield. She was nearly beheaded in a car accident along with her current husband. Lucky for us her beautiful daughter lives on and carries on the family business. Mariska Hargitay, stars in Law & Order: SVU.

Rudy Valle and Engelbert Humperdinck have also lived in the house.

Is this street unique in Hollywood history? No, each street in Hollywood has a story for almost every house. However, the street that was thrown into tragedy this week was Carolwood Drive.
