As we round out national Adopt-a-Cat Month, the Dearborn Animal Shelter hopes to increase adoptions by providing a live web camera. Viewers actually see adoptable cats playing with each other and with kind people, eating, sleeping, and more, day and night. Viewers observe cats live on the web 24/7 via the Dearborn Animal Shelter's new KittyKam in their “Best Little Cat House in Town.”

The June launch of the KittyKam provides a new avenue to increase adoptions. Friends for the Dearborn Animal Shelter (the Friends) are known for their high quality of animal care and innovative animal sheltering practices. They began housing multiple cats in a home-like, cage-free setting, their Cat Community Center (CCC), several years ago, providing an opportunity for the cats' true personalities to shine. These felines also tend to stay healthier and happier, which makes for a higher adoption success rate. Hopefully, other shelters will follow the  Dearborn Animal Shelter's lead.

Since June is Adopt-a-Cat Month, this is a good time to add a wonderful cat to the family. For more information about the organization, visit www.DearbornAnimals.org, or call 313-943-2697.
