Mike has been cycling almost as long as he can remember. From the very first day when he grabbed that training-wheel-less Schwinn and took off, bikes have been a fundamental part of his life. He's raced mountain bikes, road bikes and even done a bit of touring. Mike has explored the roads and trails of the Front Range for the last 14 years.

Weekends are made for riding... it's Spring, why not climb!

I love Colorado in the Springtime. The strengthening sun, the sweet smell of new grass and fresh tan lines! May is a great time to do some legendary Boulder road rides. Yeah, Boulder is all about its mountains but you don't have to be an ex-Olympian to take advantage of them.

The canyon roads of the Front Range are generally not too steep and offer a great way to get in some good climbing and fun descents, too. This weekends' ride starts at a regular cyclist hotspot, Amante Coffee on North Broadway. Amante is situated about a quarter mile from the northern end of Broadway and offers a great place to park and fuel up for your ride. You'll see many cyclists heading north from here so you're sure to find riding companions. So here it is. Boulder to Jamestown.

Make sure to bring some dineros for snacks at the Jamestown Mercantile. If you want to get additional climbing in, turn left at the Y on the way up which heads you toward the funky mining town of Ward.
Here's a map of that route stopping before the steep 10+% grade to the town center.
Boulder to Ward.

Happy Cycling!
