Twas the week after Christmas and all over town, all the best stuff was on triple markdown...
After-Christmas shopping, traditionally, is only for the very hard-core. Come December 26th, most people would rather jam an ornament in their left eye than step foot in a mall or department store. And for what? Ugly old Christmas sweaters and cheesy, unwanted holiday decorations at 80% off? No thanks.
This year, though, is a different story. Due to the poor economy and the worst holiday retail season in the history of the world (or something to that effect), stores are sitting on too much unwanted merchandise...and some of them are practically giving things away to make room for incoming Spring shipments.
So, if you got a little cash in your stocking this year, and it's burning a hole in your pocket, I say: go out and spend it now! Your dollar will stretch farthest if you hit up one of the following sales:
Mario's (Downtown): Super Happy Holiday Sale, "exceptional savings on extraordinary merchandise" including designer clothes and shoes for men and women. Found: a classically fab black Vince trench (perfect for Seattle weather) for about $100. marios.com
Oslo's A Men's Store (Queen Anne): 50% off all merchandise (read my lips, men: Theory, John Varvatos, Ted Baker), excluding denim and grooming products; although, I highly encourage men to spend a little time in the barber's chair. oslosasmensstore.com
BCBG (Pacific Place): Up to 80% merchandise, including 30% off anything full price (which means the entire store is on sale). Found: a gorgeous pink dress from the Max Axria signature collection for $98!
Polite Society (Downtown): Over 85 items on sale, some up to 50% off. Found: Pine IV premium jeans for $68.95 (can't beat that for premium denim!). shoppolitesociety.com.
