Two AirTran baggage handlers were injured Sunday evening when lightning struck the ramp at Orlando International Airport.

One worker was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, the other to Florida Hospital East. An airport spokesperson confirmed both workers were alert and able to speak before they were taken to the hospital. Five other AirTran employees were examined but were not injured.

Both workers are expected to recover from their injuries.

Sunday's storm activity is also responsible for lightning striking a man in Holly Hill and house fires in Deltona and Hunter's Creek.
