Back by popular demand: Robert Rodriguez does "Puerco Pibil" - slow roasted pork

August 27, 5:36 PM
by Chef John, Cooking Examiner

It's our favorite director/chef with another delicious looking cooking lesson. It's something called Puerco Pibil, which I've never made, or know anything about, so I'll let Chef Rodriguez take it from here. Warning; there's a little salty langauge in this clip, so I'm rating this NC-17. Enjoy!

Spicy Shrimp Etouffee - If You're Texting the Recipe Just Enter

June 4, 1:05 PM
Etouffee comes from the French word for "smothered," and I would describe the dish as a rich, shrimp gravy served with rice. In general, Creole cooking is not that common for the average home cook. I think, from a distance, it may look like... Read More

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Celebrate with a Chicken Thingamajig with a Side of Whatchamacallit

May 5, 11:24 AM
Many, many, years ago, in Tucson, Arizona, a cook accidentally dropped a burrito into a deep fryer. Since it was too late to save, she let it fry, and decided to have it for lunch. When one of the other cooks asked her what it was, she called it a "chimichanga,"... Read More
