Teachers! Ever find yourself wishing you could spend more than 60 or 90 minutes at a time with your students? I know the feeling. What about a little extra time with your fellow teachers? A chance to get out of town and clear your head, maybe soak up a sunrise or two in a serene, natural setting? Sounds good to me, too.

Starting a yoga commune might be a little on the extreme side, but why not plan a weekend retreat? A few days to focus on a particular theme, or just to relax and renew. This is a great option if you've got an established following, a definite point of view and some specific practices you'd like to focus on with your students, like how to develop a home practice. You can also join forces with another teacher and sign up a few students each. Lots of possibilities.

No matter what you have in mind, Mariposa on the Lake is likely the perfect venue, and it's close! Ft. Worth-close! It's a lakefront property at Eagle Mountain Lake in Ft. Worth, available for yoga (including teacher training), meditation, wellness and any other kind of retreat you can imagine. It's best for small groups that max out at about 10 participants. You can rent the property privately as well.

From the retreat's Web site, here's the lowdown on this property's extensive amenities:

The main house provides a complete kitchen with 2 refrigerators and indoor grill, washer and dryer, a dining area facing the lake, two large bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and large family room with fireplace, library, and yoga studio that may be used as a meeting room as well. Each bedroom in the main house has five beds. There is a covered porch for relaxing, reading and taking a nap. Linens are provided.

An outdoor deck facing the lake provides a wonderful setting for morning and evening yoga/meditation and is great for dining alfresco.

The private dock on the lake provides a nice place to sit and relax, meditate and even get in some fishing.

There is a BBQ pit located at the lower grounds near the lake and a grill at the upper level near the main house.

In addition to the Lake House, there is a cottage on the lake front property. The cottage is located near the main house and provides a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and full bath. Linens are provided.

Make sure to schedule plenty of free time into your retreat schedule. for nature walks, sitting in the meditation garden, kayaking, volleyball, or just enjoying the company of your group

Check out the Mariposa on the Lake site for more information, and to find out about upcoming retreats. And get out of town!
