   Double-duty beauty with Huge Lips, Skinny Hips

I have a small problem. Some might even say it's more akin to an obsession: I love lip plumpers.  And I think I've tried them all.  Plumpers that tingle, plumpers that don't tingle; plumpers for day, plumpers for night; plumpers that when worn look like lipstick and plumpers that are just clear and glossy.  But I'm particularly excited by my latest love: Huge Lips, Skinny Hips - the lip plumper sensation brought to us by our clever neighbors up north at PurpleLab NYC.

Huge Lips, Skinny Hips - the brainchild of PurpleLab Creatrix Karen Robinovitz - almost seems to have been born (as so many other great inventions) through osmosis. While at a cocktail party one night, Ms. Robinovitz off-handedly remarked to her husband, "If my lip gloss could plump my lips and not my hips, that would be my dream!", and luckily for us, the idea took root. Her husband challenged her to create this unique lip gloss and two weeks later, Huge Lips, Skinny Hips was on the way to becoming a reality.

A former pre-med major, Karen Robinovitz left her career path in medicine when she realized that the fashion world was her true passion, and re-invented herself in New York City as a fashion and beauty writer. With the advent of her beauty line PurpleLab NYC,  this multi-talented and seriously fabulous innovator has found a niche for her ambitious plans. A boutique line with six plumping glosses, Karen's vision for future expansion includes a full cache of ultra-chic lifestyle, fashion and beauty products that will all offer multiple-benefits for busy women - a key component to all PurpleLab products.

Huge Lips, Skinny Hips, the first product from the brand, is an ultra-smooth, long lasting lip gloss available in six universally flattering shades. The formula is unique from other plumpers for a few reasons. First, it doesn't sting.  Purple Lab enriched Huge Lips, Skinny Hips with meadowfoam for hydration, lemon peel oil to soothe the sting and vitamin B3 to ensure a plump, full pout.  But to me, the most exciting ingredient is Hoodia, a plant indigenous to South Africa that is reputed to have appetite suppressant and weight-management properties. But why add a plant extract to lip plumper? Given the fact that over the course of a lifetime, most women will ingest 9 pounds of lipstick, it struck Karen that here was a great way to perfect an already beloved beauty item - lip gloss - and enhance it with added beneficial properties that might make all that lip gloss we eat worthwhile!

Huge Lips, Skinny Hips names and colors are inspired by Karen's own personal philosophies and her fashion icons.  The lineup includes:

Kitty Pole Dancer- Soft, sexy nude inspired by, of all things, Karen's love of pole-dancing class, and this color is all about being sexy.

Worship Kate - Fashion icon Kate Moss is the inspiration for this deeper pink and mauve color.

Red Sole - What girl doesn't love the red-soled shoe? Christian Louboutin's signature red-sole on each pair of his shoes lead Karen to create this juicy red, yet still sheer shade.

Lychee Martini - Succulent, soft, peachy - pink hue for a hint of color.

No Panty Lines - Crystal clear and undetectable on the lips, this gloss is great layered on top of your favorite lipstick.

Love Your Thighs - Sheer coral with a message; rather than saying 'I hate my thighs', wear this gloss and say  'I love my thighs, I love my thighs!!'.
