Just a few of my name's many meanings.

I bet you didn't know that March 2nd is Fun Facts about Names Day. Not only that, March 4th is Learn What Your Name Means Day. This is what my inside sources tell me. Do you know what your name means? Well, do you? If you don't, you can use the Internets to find out. Although if you managed to find this article, you probably know your way around the WWW, and you already Googled "name meaning" like nine years ago and found the meaning of your name. And you're rolling your eyes because I just used "WWW" in a sentence.

There are quite a few websites that provide meanings as well as history for a name. I like Behind the Name.  My name is the French feminine form of Iustinus, from the Roman family name which meant "just" in Latin. So, according to the dictionary, I behave according to what is morally right and fair. Sounds accurate to me. Behind the Name also features a Random Name Generator which is useful for creating a name for Small Worlds or Second Life. Although I wouldn't suggest actually playing Second Life.

PaulSadowski.com takes your full birth name and gives you a comprehensive report about your destiny, soul, and inner dreams. Dude, that is deep. It also seems to be sort of accurate. I'd never describe myself as "a very quick thinker," but maybe it's my destiny. I'll just keep telling myself that. Slowly.

You could also go to blogthings and take the "What's Your Name's Hidden Meaning?" quiz. Just type in your name and get a list of qualities that may or may not apply to you. Nod in agreement when you read something that sounds just like you, and question your self-comprehension when something doesn't quite fit.

So what does your name mean? How accurate were your results? Are you thinking of legally changing your name?
