Attorney general Eric Holder announced Wednesday, 03/18/2009, that federal agents will no longer go after medical marijuana distributors which comply with state law. This is another crushed seed which was planted in the minds and hearts of less than tolerant lawmakers. The leaves of the law books containing rules, regulations and statutes pertaining to medical marijuana started blazing in 1996 with Proposition 215. This was known as the compassionate use act of 1996.
California right now is most likely one of most envied states, if not the most, when it comes to medical pot. Although, the New Mexico Department of Health has licensed a nonprofit business to produce medical marijuana, the first approved business under a state program that allows patients with specified medical conditions to have and use small amounts of marijuana.
