Comedian Carol Leifer, after being divorced for 10 years, has come out to the world about her love for another woman. She claims that her newfound sexual desire, for a woman instead of a man, actually caught her by surprise. She claims that she had successful and satisfying relationships with men over the years, but somehow around age 40, she was overcome with desire and perhaps curiosity, to have a sexual encounter with another woman.
What Ms. Leifer discovered was that she enjoyed being with this woman so much that the "fling" has lasted for 13 years. The "fling" started out exciting for her, probably do to the sense of it being wrong and inappropriate. What she didn't expect was that she would actually fall in love with Lori, her partner for the past 13 years.
