Wines and the Republican National Convention-- an interesting combo...

I had to share both the picture and the article with my readers.  What I wouldn't give to sample the offerings...

Custom Wines For GOP Convention Coming This Week

ST. PAUL (AP) ? Some local hotels, restaurants and liquor stores will have something special for the Republican National Convention: Custom-labeled wine commemorating the event.

St. Paul-based marketer Giraffrican Mix says there will be two labels.

"Balance" highlights the importance of environmental issues in this year's campaign, showing an elephant balancing over a globe and including the convention's St. Paul location and September 1st through 4th dates.

The higher-end President's Select label includes an eagle and a flag. It says "Have a great convention" and "2008-2012," the years between the current presidential election and the next one.

The wines become available starting this week. Proceeds go toward building universities in Africa.

For more info: Try to find and sample these--I'm guessing they are 'limited release,' for just the St. Paul area--and share what you discovered.   Is it just a marketing ploy (probably, but still fun) or are they worth seeking out?
