Back in the days of the 1950s, the Atomic family often got it's kicks in the simple places.
None that I know of, can lay claim to being more hokey than the enamel designed drink glasses which donned the tables across America.
You remember these, in fact, I would bet you have at least a few of them hanging out in your cupboard even now.

We began drinking from glasses decorated with pigs playing the stand up bass, Boston Terriers, Polar Bears and more. It was fun we were after, and fun we would have.
Many of these containers would cause kids to dribble juice out of the side of their mouth as they giggled with overzealous delight. Perhaps Johnny would use Dad's "Pink Elephant" rocks glass that was used the night before for "entertaining" or Susie would use Mom's special ones withwith strawberries on the outside.
In no time at all, there were many hundreds of these designs popping up on everything from water tumblers to shot glasses. We loved them. Like many things that wax nostalgic, these became very collectible.
Now they are being sold for good prices at antiques shows and shops throughout the country.
Below is a slide show of some sets I found at the Brimfield Antiques show, and the prices being asked for them.
