Auctionwally's # 1 reason I love my job or Lost Beatles tape found

August 8, 10:25 AM

Have you ever had your heart race as a kid when you found a coin that you thought was going to change your life with riches beyond belief?  I'm lucky enough to have occupation in which, I get to feel that rush almost every day. Oh,it's not always the same dramatic blood racing feeling every time, but the fact is, you never know what you'll find in my line of work. That's the carrot at the end of the stick for me. It could be a great batch of early postcards in a shoebox at a yard sale for $20, or a stash of period Civil War buttons someone tucked away in an attic. I never know what it will be, but I do know that it will always be something. Most of the finds, while not monumental, are enough to keep me hopping out of bed every morning with anticipation. And there still are the pots of gold out there, take this one lucky lad with his attic treasure...

Lost Beatle's Tape
I wanna hold your hand, the one with the  $23,000 in it!

LONDON (Map, News) - A newly discovered tape of The Beatles laughing and chatting during an early recording session has sold for about $23,000, an auction house reported Tuesday.Cameo Auctioneers said the reel-to-reel tape was recorded in 1964 and had recently been discovered by a man in northern England while he was clearing out his father's attic. The half-hour tape sold to an Internet bidder Tuesday afternoon for $23,446 including tax and the buyer's premium, the auction house said, adding that it had yet to contact the winner. The tape features John Lennon and Paul McCartney collapsing into fits of giggles as they try to finish the ballad "I'll Follow the Sun."It also carries versions of songs including "I Feel Fine," "I'm a Loser" and "Don't Put Me Down Like This."

Not everyone can be or wants to be a full time estate liquidator, but almost anyone can have a little piece of this excitement by becoming a part time "picker". It's a great hobby and a fun way to raise extra cash. With a little study you could  bring in a part time  income by scouring yard sales, searching auntie's attic and even by filtering for the best buys online. And who knows, you might just stumble accross that pot of gold!
