ELLICOTT CITY, Md. – Yesterday, former governor Bob Ehrlich spoke among a crowd dressed as Betsy Ross, Thomas Jefferson, and other historic Americans in an attempt to motivate Republicans for the 2010 elections.
During the “Common Sense Town Rally,” Ehrlich refused to announce if he would run again for governor but he did give some hope to the crowd of 200. “It is something that we’re looking at,” Ehrlich said.
One Ellicott City resident named Kathleen Newberry pleaded with Ehrlich to run again telling him she would work hard for him. “These people need somebody… Run, Ehrlich, Run,” she said.
Ehrlich stressed to the crowd that election results in Maryland can be forecast by election outcomes in Howard County. “My challenge to you is to maximize the votes in this barometer county.”
Ehrlich’s message was not lost on several officials from his former administration as they are hoping in the next election to knock Democrats out of power in the county according to a recent report by the Baltimore Sun.
