Punk rock flea markets take place all over the world, but for Seattle, this is the 6th incarnation of the highly successful event.
Don’t let the name fool you. There will be live bands and plenty of beer in the evening, but the flea market does not strictly cater to the punk crowd, rather it embodies the DIY (“do it yourself”) spirit of the original punk movement. Everyone and every musical taste can find a special treasure at this flea market.
Everything imaginable will be up for sale including records, clothing, furniture, computers, stereo equipment, house wares, haircuts, toys, videos, bicycles, bondage gear, tacos, falafels, vegan treats, skateboards, dog sweaters, political propaganda, books, art, baby stuff and tarot readings. The list goes on.
The Punk Rock Flea Market will open its doors Saturday, June 6 at 10am. Entrance to the all ages flea market is just $1, which will in part go to the non-profit organization Low Income Housing Institute. Come 6pm live bands and beer will commence for an over 21 show while the vendors continue to sell well into the night. It's late night bargain hunting at its best. The flea market is located in the Underground Events Center at 2407 1st Avenue in Belltown.
With over 80 vendors plus food, drink and music, there is something for everyone at the flea market. Dig around for that collectible or oddball item you’ve been searching for or just come for the experience; either way the Punk Rock Flea Market is quickly becoming a favorite of the underground Seattle crowd.
