Global Warming vs. Common Sense
Common sense has become all too uncommon today in the deluge of information and political posturing about climate change and global warming. Though scientific findings should not be defined by public opinion polls, it is now clear that the environmental alarmists selling the horrors of global warming have worn out their welcome in the public arena. And, the credibility of environmentalism is sinking along with the cult of climate crusaders outside of the corridors of the U.N., Gore’s climate propaganda campaigns and the layered radicals of the Obama administration.
What’s true is that there are no empirical data to sustain the “conventional
wisdom” that increases in the global warming gas carbon dioxide have raised temperatures over the last decade. Human growth and prosperity are measured in “gross domestic product” (GDP). During the last decade, world economies (GDPs) expanded faster and larger than during any of the prior three decades. Accordingly, atmospheric carbon dioxide levels from human activities (GDP) grew from about 370 ppm to 385 ppm over the last decade. But, global temperatures did not rise in any commensurate or corresponding way.
I know, its all too simple. But, where’s the cause and effect of CO2 on global warming? Global warming has become an “urban myth” (or urban legend) for media and political exploitation.
