Dr. Raymond Stantz: I think we better split up.
Dr. Egon Spengler: Good idea.
Dr. Peter Venkman: Yeah, we can do more damage that way.

Ghostbusters

A quick update on the Ghost Story entertainment line-up at the Main Street Galleria in Historic Downtown Weston, Missouri. As mentioned in the previous article, the owner has transformed the former upstairs antique salon to a Tea Room and is celebrating the haunted history of the area with presentations of true ghost stories, accompanied by dinner.

Another contributor on the entertainment line up this Halloween weekend is Kansas City based, Paranormal Researcher James Presnell. He also happens to have the physics background and the quirky electronic gadgets to rival Egon in Ghostbusters.

Presnell adds insight and humor on why one might want to research ghosts and what contribution that might offer to the field of science in general. We are still lacking when it comes to being able to quantify metaphysical experiences and ghost researchers might be in a position to fill in a few blanks. At the very least they can reassure us as to where the blanks remain.

As for the ghost story presentation, the star item is a desk that was imported to the store, and once (mostly likely still belongs) belonged to a Confederate Captain. The story of the Captain's desk is worth a visit.

Don't discount the stories offered by the various nightly guests. As an intuitive, I give my own observations, impressions and readings. On the night I went, two guests shared stories that involved extraordinary encounters with divine intervention by guardian angels.

In one instance, a car was diverted from broadsiding a house and in the other, something or someone redirected machiney to avert what could have had a fatal outcome. An upgrade from ghost to angels. Each night will be different but I am guessing there will no lack for good stories. The dinner was also excellent.

The more we share the more we can learn from each other.  Some people would have you believe ghost encounters are a rare event. I believe they are not rare. It is more a matter of lack of tracking, consistant and uniform catagorizing of encounters and information sharing.

Until science is able to offer a concrete definition for the ghost experience, those willing to engage that activity, explore, research and share the results are paving the way for understanding a part of our world we have yet to define.

It is suggested those who believe in ghosts aren't playing with a full deck. I prefer the viewpoint that those who believe in ghosts have access to a larger deck. Eventually, science will figure out how to locate it.

For more information:
Harris Poll says more than half, or 51 percent of those polled, say they believe in ghosts. * They also report that 89 percent believe in miracles... To that I say -- what is a ghost but a miracle we can't explain.

*Reserve your space now for Halloween night.
