Although the curtain just closed on the second annual Dallas Burlesque Festival, Houston fans of glitter, glitz and dancing dames should already be planning a return trip to the Big D for “Amour,” taking place on Feb. 27 at the Lakewood Theater.
Sponsored by Pin Curl Magazine and billed as “a lust-filled burlesque comedy,” the show features some of the top names in the southern burlesque scene. Headliners Perle Noire and Lola Van Ella both made spectacular showings in last year’s New Orleans Burlesque Festival - Noire was crowned the Queen of the fest and Van Ella, billed as “the derriere beyond compare,” made sure attendees would never look at a tin of cake icing the same way again.
Rounding out the list of performers are Texas favorites Rose Darling, Ginger Valentine, Coco Lectric, Scarlet Switches, Miss Malicious and Black Mariah. Justin Foster, a popular Dallas comedian will act as emcee, with Richard Hunter making a special comedic appearance.
Due to the theater’s limited capacity, advance purchase of tickets is recommended. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Lakewood Theater at (214) 821-7469 or visit ticketmaster.com.
Out-of-town guests may take advantage of a special rate at the Warwick Melrose Hotel - located just five minutes from Lakewood Theater - by calling (214) 521-5151 and mentioning Pin Curl Magazine.
